Ashten Hutton

Ashten Hutton was born and raised in Hesperia, California. She received her first horse at age three and has been riding and training ever since. When her father gave her an unbroken filly and said "If you want her, you break her!" she realized that breaking horses was what she wanted to do. Not only are horses her career, they are her passion. As she got older, Ashten was an active member in the California High School Rodeo Association, local jackpots and local rodeos.

In 2005 Ashten's family moved to Colorado where she finished high school and went to college. She received her AAS in Equine Management and Training at Northeastern Junior College and her Level One Early Childhood Teaching Certificate at CSU Pueblo. Obviously, she enjoys working with children and horses both. She was an active member on her rodeo team in college and still managed to make the Dean's list every quarter.

Ashten started her own business, Hutton's High Hopes Horses, four years ago and has been training horses and giving riding lessons to adults and children of all ages. She taught preschool for 2 years, finally joining the two things she loves most! She partnered with A Painted View Ranch in September, 2013 and is continuing to provide lessons and training at that facility.

Ashten helps local 4-H children prepare horses, is an active lifetime member of the Wet Mountain Valley Saddle Club, assists in horsemanship training for the Saddle Club's annual Royalty contest which is part of the Westcliffe Stampede Rodeo, and hosts many programs for youth here at the ranch.
